What Is ARF Initial Certification Training?

California requires prospective Adult Residential Facility administrators to complete an approved Initial Certification Training Program as part of the state's administrator certification process.

ARFs provide nonmedical residential care and supervision to adults who may need assistance and support in a community-based setting.

Our upcoming 35-hour ARF ICTP is being developed to introduce aspiring administrators to the responsibilities, regulations, and operational knowledge associated with managing an Adult Residential Facility in California.

Completion of training is one step in the certification process. Additional state requirements apply.

Who Is This Training For?

This program is intended for:

  • Aspiring ARF Administrators — Individuals preparing to pursue California ARF Administrator certification.

  • Future Facility Owners — Entrepreneurs exploring the possibility of opening and operating an Adult Residential Facility.

  • Residential Care Professionals — Individuals looking to advance their careers into facility leadership and administration.

  • Newcomers to Residential Care — People seeking a better understanding of ARF administration and the certification pathway.
